If you’re a Nassau County business owner, when Old Man Winter blows in, here’s a look at some great reasons why you should hire a Freeport, NY commercial snow removal service.
Improved Safety
Snow and ice can make your parking lot, walkways, steps, and other outdoor surfaces extremely hazardous. A reputable Freeport, NY snow removal company will have ample experience, will use the most state-of-the-art equipment, and will apply proven techniques and strategies to eliminate snow buildup on the exterior surfaces of your Nassau County business so that your business can be safely accessed.
Reduced Liability
As a business owner, you’re liable for any accidents or injuries that occur on your Nassau County premises. This not only includes interior areas but exterior spaces, as well. Snow and ice can make outdoor surfaces extremely slippery. Just a few inches of snow can create a hazardous situation. If your customers, staff, or suppliers slip and fall on those snow-covered surfaces, you will be held liable for any injuries, which means that you could be responsible for any medical expenses and legal payouts; your insurance rates could skyrocket, too. By hiring a Freeport, NY commercial snow removal company, you’ll significantly reduce the liability risks that can be associated with those slippery, snow-covered outdoor surfaces.
Minimal Downtime
When the ground is covered with snow, it’s pretty much guaranteed that your Nassau County business is going to experience some amount of downtime. You’re most certainly going to lose some – if not all – of your customer base until the storm passes, employees might call out, or you may have no other choice but to tell them to stay home. If conditions are bad enough, you might have to close down completely. A reputable Freeport, NY commercial snow removal professional can help to minimize your downtime. An experienced commercial snow plowing expert will quickly clear your parking lots, walkways, stairs, and loading docks, and you’ll be back to business as usual in no time.
Cost Savings
You might assume that a professional commercial snow removal company is an unnecessary expense; however, in reality, hiring one can actually end up saving you a good deal of money. Freeport is a village in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 43,713 at the 2010 census, making it the second largest village in New York by population.
Before people of European ancestry came to the area, the land was part of the territory of the Meroke Indians. Written records of the community go back to the 1640s. The village now known as Freeport was part of an area called “the Great South Woods” during colonial times. In the mid-17th century, the area was renamed Raynor South, and ultimately Raynortown, after a herdsman named Edward Raynor, who had moved to the area from Hempstead in 1659, cleared land, and built a cabin.
In 1853, residents voted to rename the village Freeport, adopting a variant of a nickname used by ship captains during colonial times because they were not charged customs duties to land their cargo.
After the Civil War, Freeport became a center for commercial oystering. This trade began to decline as early as the beginning of the 20th century because of changing salinity and increased pollution in Great South Bay. Nonetheless, even as of the early 21st century Freeport and nearby Point Lookout have the largest concentration of commercial fishing activity anywhere near New York City.
