Plowing
Plowing is one of the primary snow removal services that a reputable company will offer. If your Suffolk County business has a parking lot or a large cement driveway, you’re definitely going to want to hire a Lake Ronkonkoma, NY commercial snow removal contractor that offers plowing, as it’s the fastest and most efficient way to clear snow from large spaces. Snow Blowing
If your Suffolk County business features walkways, loading docks, short and/or narrow driveways, and other outdoor surfaces that are relatively large, but that snow plowing wouldn’t be suitable for, you’ll want to employ a contractor that offers snow blowing as part of their snow removal services. Snow blowers can clear large amounts of snow rather quickly, yet they aren’t as heavy, bulky, or obtrusive as snow plows, making snow blowing the ideal snow removal solution for expansive areas that would be damaged by snow plows. A dependable Lake Ronkonkoma, NY commercial snow removal company will use durable snow blowers that are outfitted with the latest technologies, and they will make sure that their blowers are well-maintained. Furthermore, they’ll ensure that their staff is properly trained and that they know how to safely use the equipment.
Shoveling
Shoveling is the most basic, yet one of the most important snow removal services that a Lake Ronkonkoma, NY commercial snow removal contractor will offer. For areas where snow plows and snow blowers wouldn’t be suitable, shoveling will be necessary; doorways and stairs, for example. Shoveling should also be used to clear any snow that plows or blowers are unable to access; around outdoor trash receptacles and mailboxes, for instance. A dependable company will always bring high-quality, durably constructed shovels in an assortment of sizes to every job.
Ice Removal and Prevention
Ice is one of the most dangerous elements and one of the most common causes of injuries during the winter season. Ice can be tricky to deal with, too. Not only can it develop in the midst of a snowstorm, but it can form long after the weather has cleared and the snow has been removed. To reduce the hazards that are associated with ice, a reputable Lake Ronkonkoma, NY commercial snow removal company will offer ice removal and prevention services. In other words, they’ll not only remove any existing ice, but they will also employ strategies that will prevent the development of future ice; the application of top-quality, safe, and highly effective de-icing products, for example.
Weather Tracking
Finally, a dependable Lake Ronkonkoma, NY commercial snow removal contractor will offer weather tracking as part of their snow removal services. In order to ensure rapid response times, they’ll take a proactive approach by monitoring the weather in real time. When a storm is in the forecast, they’ll contact you to make arrangements for clearing your property, thereby ensuring that your Suffolk County business will remain safe and accessible, even during the height of the storm.

Lake Ronkonkoma is a census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 20,155 at the 2010 census.
The actual lake, Lake Ronkonkoma, adjacent to the CDP, is the largest lake on Long Island. The land surrounding one side of the lake is in the jurisdiction of Islip. The elevation of the lake surface is given as 55 feet (17 m) on the most recent USGS map, but as the lake is a “groundwater lake”, not fed by streams, it has no surface outlet and its water surface reflects the current level of the local water table. This can undergo significant changes over time, and the lake level experiences slow periods of rise and fall. In the late 1960s it was quite low; after several intermediate changes in level, in 2007 the lake was higher than at any time since, with a difference of well over 5 feet (1.5 m) between the 1960s low and the 2007 high.
As a result of the lake’s existence, Lake Ronkonkoma was once a resort town, until the area experienced a population explosion in the mid-20th century. Remnants of old resorts and hotels can still be seen around the lake’s shores. Many summer cottages and bungalows from that period remain, now converted to year-round use.
The lake is the subject of a number of urban legends, mainly rooted in the area’s rich Native American heritage. For example: 1. “It’s bottomless” (and/or empties into Long Island Sound or other waterways). In fact, the lake is relatively deep (approx. 65 feet (20 m)) at its southeastern side, and is what’s known as a kettle hole lake. 2. “Every year the lake sacrifices someone.” Or more specifically, Princess Ronkonkoma “The Lady of the Lake” calls young men out to the middle of the lake and drowns them. In all versions, the lady is an Indian princess who herself drowned in the lake, for reasons that vary depending on the story. The most popular version is that every year the lake claims one male victim. Articles suggest that in the past 200 years, only a handful of females have drowned in Lake Ronkonkoma. 3. “There is a mysterious rise and fall of the lake that doesn’t have any noticeable relationship to local rainfall totals.” This has not been sufficiently explained either way.
