To ensure you receive the best results possible, you really need to do your research. When you’re looking for commercial snow removal in Poquott, NY, here are some key factors you should be on the lookout for.
Experience
While there’s a chance that a company that’s just starting out could provide reliable snow removal services, when it comes to something as important as clearing snow and ice for your Suffolk County business, do you really want to leave anything to chance? To ensure you receive the best results, hire a well-established company that has been offering commercial snow removal in Poquott, NY for several years. The longer a company has been in business, the more hands-on experience they will have, and they’ll apply that experience when they’re clearing the snow and ice for your Suffolk County property.
A Variety of Services
Another factor that you’ll want to consider when you’re looking for a Poquott, NY commercial snow removal company is the type of services they offer. Don’t just assume that every company will provide the specific services you require, so make sure you ask. A reputable contractor will offer a broad scope of snow removal services, such as snow plowing, shoveling, snow removal, de-icing, and more. To ensure the best results, a reliable company will create a customized snow removal plan for your Suffolk County business.
Durable Equipment
Another important factor to consider is the type of equipment the company uses. It doesn’t matter what kind or how many snow removal services a contractor offers, if they don’t have durable equipment, they won’t be able to deliver reliable results. A reputable Poquott, NY commercial snow removal company will use durable, well-maintained, state-of-the-art equipment that will be able to handle the harsh conditions that are associated with severe winter weather.
Rapid Response
When winter weather rolls in, the sooner snow removal services are deployed, the better. A dependable Poquott, NY commercial snow removal contractor will offer rapid response times. They’ll keep track of the weather, and when snow and ice are in the forecast, if you have a contract with them, they’ll contact you to make arrangements to clear out your Suffolk County business. If you don’t intend on signing a contractor, but you intend on using the company on an as-needed basis, a reliable contractor will deploy a team to your location as soon as you contact them.
A Stellar Reputation
Finally, you’ll want to consider a Poquott, NY commercial snow removal company’s reputation. Check online review sites, like Angie’s List, Home Advisor, and Yelp for customer reviews; check the Better Business Bureau, too. You should also ask prospective contractors to provide you with a list of references. Take the time to contact at least some of the references on their list and inquire about the snow removal services they received, the results the contractor provided, and whether or not they would recommend hiring the company. If you can’t find any information online about a company that you’re thinking about hiring, and/or if they won’t provide you with references, consider those red flags and cross them off your list.

Poquott is a village in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. The village is located in the Town of Brookhaven, on the North Shore of Long Island, and is officially known as the Incorporated Village of Poquott.
Poquott was founded by European settlers in 1659. The peninsula came to be known as “George’s Neck”, and was developed mostly as farmland. A fort with a single 32-pound gun, dubbed “Fort Nonsense”, was erected at the tip of Poquott during the War of 1812. It did little to deter the British raiders who entered Port Jefferson Harbor.
As the 20th century approached, “California Grove” was established at what is now the foot of Washington Street (1883). California Grove was an amusement park that featured an oyster restaurant, dancing pavilion, skating rink, picnic grounds, and a pier at which the steamboat Notowantuc would unload tourists from Connecticut. The establishment of California Grove led to Poquott’s development as a summer bungalow community.
Poquott continued to grow as a summer community. Several camps (Dr. Petit’s Camp/Camp Woodbine/Pine Bluff Camp) dotted the shorelines of Poquott. At the turn of the century, large swaths of George’s Neck came into the hands of world traveler, financier, and businessman Edward Larocque Tinker. The Tinker family built several stunning homes throughout Poquott.
